The "filigrane momposina" is a
technique based on a weaving of 925/1000 silver threads (replacing
gold, now too expensive). Mompox, the cradle of this technique, is a
village located in the Caraibe region and was designed as a World
Heritage site by UNESCO in 1995. This famous place played an important role both for
precolombian cultures and the
afrocolombian culture.
